Do I need a referral to have an appointment at Coffs Coast Nutrition? An appointment is not essential, unless you want an appointment under DVA or would like to claim a Medicare rebate. Private health funds do not require members to have a referral.
Coffs Coast Nutrition offers the following consultation options:
- Zoom / video
- home visits (depending on the COVID situation at the time)
- combination (eg attending the initial in-person consult at Coffs Coast Nutrition, followed by phone or Zoom review appointments)
Phone and video / Zoom consultations have been extremely popular due to the convenience as there is no need to travel to appointments. We are able to offer the same great level of support and care as if you were attending in person. Medicare rebates are available for telehealth appointments - if you provide a valid GP Management Plan and Medicare / EPC referral. Most private health funds provide a rebate for dietitian telehealth appointments, depending on level of cover.
There is no charge for DVA recipients (gold card holders only) as long as a D904 referral is provided.
Home visits are available in the Coffs Harbour, Sawtell, Nambucca, Macksville and Woolgoolga areas for an additional fee. There is no charge for this service for Veterans Affairs (DVA) gold card recipients, however we do require a doctor's DVA referral.
